SMIF, Winona State hold diversity training at OPU

The Minnesota Group co-founders Ron Ferguson and Charlotte Kunkel offer diversity training Wednesday for business consultants at Owatonna Public Utilities. This was a joint partnership with Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation and Winona State University. 

Sociologists and TMG co-founders Charlotte Kunkel and Ron Ferguson guided consultants through several topics, with an emphasis on cultural humility, implicit bias and effective business communication. While “cultural competency” is widely used in diversity training, Kunkel feels the term is misleading.
